Lindy Hop Lessons
Lindy Hop A
Come learn the basics of lindy hop. Lindy hop is a swing dance that developed in the ballrooms of Harlem in the 1930s and 40s and is incredibly popular throughout the world today. In this class we will review 6 count swing and introduce you to the basic 8 count lindy patterns. This exciting dance has lots of room for improvisation and creativity. No partner necessary. This class is designed for students who can comfortably dance 6-count swing, in either 'east coast swing' or 'cowboy jitterbug' style.
When: Beginning February 25th, Five Thursdays, 7:00-8:00pm

Lindy Hop B
Advanced Beginner lindy hop, suitable for dancers who are already comfortable with both 6 count swing and basic 8 count patterns including the swing out and inside turns. In this class we will continue learning technique for improvisation and add some new moves and styling including swivels for followers.

Beginning Country Two-Step
Tuesdays Jan 26 - February 23 (five weeks) 6:00 to 7:15 PM
Learn the essential moves and how to lead and follow in this popular dance style for local clubs and dances.
Cost: $45 individual, $75 couple ($5 discount for LCAC members). Optional 2-week extension March 2 and 9 for $15 per person.
Intermediate Ballroom
Tuesdays Jan 26 - March 2 (six weeks) 7:30-8:45 pm
Waltz and Tango - smooth, elegant and romantic! Expand your Waltz repertoire and learn basic ballroom Tango for weddings, local formal dances and dance parties. Prerequisite: Introduction to Waltz or permission of instructor.
Cost: $54 individual, $90 couple ($5 discount for LCAC members). Optional practice/coaching session on March 9 for $7 per person.

Beginning Salsa
Fridays Jan 22 - Feb 12 (four weeks) 5:45 - 7:00 pm
Find out what you've been missing with this fun and spicy dance style that's one of the hottest dance styles in the area! No dance experience required, adult and teen couples and singles welcome.

Spring Session:
Beginning Cha Cha
A fast and sassy dance to a common and infectious latin and pop rhythm - Salsa meets Swing! Learn the critical basic moves and styling to hit the dance floor at local clubs, dances, parties and weddings. Prior classes in beginning swing and/or salsa recommended but not required.
Tuesdays March 16 - April 20 (five weeks - skipping one week)* 6:00 - 7:15 pm
Cost: $45 individual, $75 couple ($5 discount for LCAC members).
West Coast Swing Basics
The smoothest of the swing dance styles and one of the most popular in the U.S. Great for a range of popular music including blues, rock, jazz and R&B. Don't miss this rare chance to learn West Coast in Livingston! Prerequisite: Previous swing dancing experience - Intermediate East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop or permission of instructor.
